A naval ship is in distress in the Gulf of Thailand. The rescue workers are still looking for 31 crew members.

Rescue teams continue to search for 31 missing crew members after a Thai Navy ship capsized on Sunday evening.

HTMS Sukhothai sank while on patrol in the Gulf of Thailand about 37 kilometers off the coast of Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

According to the Royal Thai Navy, 75 people were initially rescued.

Some of them are seriously injured.

According to the Navy, the ship was caught in high waves.

She published a video showing the American-made corvette in an extreme imbalance.

This situation allowed seawater to get into the ship and caused a power outage, causing the engine to stop working, the Thai press reported.

As a result of more and more incoming water, the ship finally capsized.

At least part of the crew was able to leave the ship in time.

It was said that the rescued had been adrift at sea for about three hours.

The Navy rejected reports that a crew member had already died.

According to the Navy, two helicopters, two frigates and an amphibious ship were involved in the search on Monday.

The choppy sea made rescue work difficult.

According to the press, HTMS Sukhothai was in service for about 36 years and was equipped for air defense and anti-submarine warfare.

Most recently, a Thai naval ship sank in Thailand after a torpedo attack during World War II.
