According to the Navy, the ship was caught in high waves.
She published a video showing the American-made corvette in an extreme imbalance.
This situation allowed seawater to get into the ship and caused a power outage, causing the engine to stop working, the Thai press reported.
As a result of more and more incoming water, the ship finally capsized.
At least part of the crew was able to leave the ship in time.
A video shows people in a lifeboat moored to a ship.
It was said that the rescued had been adrift at sea for about three hours.
The Navy rejected reports that a crew member had already died.
According to the Navy, two helicopters, two frigates and an amphibious ship were involved in the search on Monday.
The choppy sea made rescue work difficult.
According to the press, HTMS Sukhothai was in service for about 36 years and was equipped for air defense and anti-submarine warfare.
