Nineteen people, including eighteen minors, were arrested on Friday evening at Ozoir-la-Ferrière station (Seine-et-Marne) following a violent brawl between rival gangs in an RER station, a we learned Saturday from a police source.
Twenty young people, some from the neighboring town of Pontault-Combault, others from Ozoir-la-Ferrière, clashed around 6 p.m. on the platform and in a RER E train with sticks and especially crutches.
Three injured
According to the scenario envisaged by the investigators, the band of Ozoir-la-Ferrière was waiting at the station for the young people of Pontault-Combault who were traveling in the RER and attacked them.
The struggle left three people injured, two of whom were taken to hospital for stitches.
The RER E train where the brawl occurred suffered multiple damage.
Interrupted, traffic could not resume until around 9:30 p.m.
Fights between rival gangs from neighboring municipalities occur sporadically in Seine-et-Marne, particularly along the network of RER lines.
In September, a 17-year-old boy was seriously stabbed at Savigny-le-Temple station during a clash with young people from Mée-sur-Seine.
