Despite Kylian Mbappé scoring three goals in the World Cup final, and scoring his penalty during the penalty shootout, it was a loss for France.
It was only the second time in WC history that a player scored a hat-trick in the WC final.
The first time was in 1966, when Geoff Hurst scored three of England's goals in a 4–2 win over West Germany.
Became the tuning's top scorer
Mbappé did not do interviews after the match, but on Monday he posted a post on Twitter.
There he published a picture of him wearing the award he received as the top scorer of the tournament, right next to the World Cup trophy.
"We'll be back," writes Mbappé, with a French flag and two hands in a grateful gesture after the message.
