Hundreds of tourists stranded in the ancient city of Machu Picchu are being evacuated after Peru entered a state of emergency following the ouster of President Pedro Castillo.
Following last week's disruptions and closures, train services and airports are now reopening.

Dina Boluarte announces changes in the Council of Ministers

The president of Peru, Dina Boluarte, announced this Sunday in an interview on the "Cuarto Poder" program on Peruvian television that this Monday or Tuesday, that is, December 19 or 20, she would be reforming the cabinet for one "a little more political” after the nationwide demonstrations.
“To solve the needs that are pending to be solved as quickly as we can, because nobody can put a minister who is going to learn how the sector is inside, we are going to delay time.
This is a transitional government, we need to act fast,” he said.
Boluarte also indicated that he will be changing the head of the Council of Ministers, Pedro Angulo.

The number of people killed after the demonstrations rises to 25

The Peruvian Ministry of Health reported this Sunday on its Twitter account that the death toll from the demonstrations throughout the country increased to 25. The authorities indicated that at least 69 people remain hospitalized.
