If you want to lose weight, you should pay attention to a negative energy balance.

Almonds can help reduce energy intake and manage weight.

This is shown by the results of a study.

As a bedside table or a small snack in between: Almonds, contrary to their sometimes bad reputation, are particularly good for people who want to lose weight.

Like nuts, almonds also have a high fat content.

However, the human body only uses 15 percent of this and excretes the rest.

A current study by scientists shows how almonds can help to save calories.

They examined the effects of eating almonds on appetite and appetite-regulating hormones compared to carbohydrate-based snacks.

Almonds contain particularly valuable ingredients such as fiber, minerals (e.g. magnesium, calcium and zinc), vegetable protein and vitamins B and E. In their study published in the European Journal of Nutrition, researchers have now found out how they can also help with weight loss : The consumption of 30 to 50 grams of almonds per day helps to reduce the daily calorie intake.

Because the study showed that after eating almonds, people reduced their energy intake by about 70 kilocalories at the subsequent meal.

The study also showed that participants who ate almonds experienced changes in their appetite-regulating hormones.

This in turn can lead to reduced food intake and therefore help with weight loss.

The researchers also found that the participants had 47 percent lower C-peptide levels after the almond snack.

This has a positive impact on insulin sensitivity and reduces the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular disease.

In addition, they also showed increased levels of the hormones glucagon and pancreatic polypeptide, which contribute to satiety and promote weight loss.

The results of the study provide important and valuable insights for bringing your own weight under control.

"Overweight and obesity are major public health concerns, and regulating appetite through better hormonal response may be key to promoting weight management," says study author Dr.

Sharayah Carter.

If you prefer a fruity snack instead of almonds or nuts during a diet, you can try tangerines.

The citrus fruit boosts fat burning - but it depends on how you eat the tangerines.
