In January, the energy tax on petrol and diesel will be temporarily reduced by 80 öre per litre.
The government will also lower the reduction split to the EU's lowest to push down the price at the pump.
But that change is about a year ahead.
It will therefore take some time before the price of petrol and diesel can approach the reduction that Peter Kullgren talked about during the election campaign.
Then KD said that the diesel price would be reduced by around SEK 9 per liter and the petrol price by around SEK 5 per litre.
Price reduction takes time
Peter Kullgren does not agree with those who believe that the government has broken its election promise.
- It takes time to get this done in a good way, he says.
At the same time, he emphasizes that a reduction in the price of fuel is important to being able to run businesses and live in the countryside.
In the clip above, you can hear him answer more questions about what he says about the fact that so far there has been no sharp reduction in the price of petrol and diesel.
Smaller amount of biofuel in petrol and diesel
The reduction obligation is a control tool where the proportion of biofuels in petrol and diesel must gradually increase in order to reduce emissions.
But it lowers the government from the year 2024.
Reducing the reduction obligation to the EU's minimum level could lead to the price of petrol and diesel being reduced by SEK 4-5 per litre.
But it will also mean that the Swedish emissions of greenhouse gases will be significantly higher than they otherwise would have been.
