Elon Musk - CEO of Twitter - published a poll on the social networking platform - yesterday, Sunday - asking if he should step down from the company's presidency, adding that he would abide by the results of the poll, according to a Reuters report.
The poll is scheduled to close on Monday at 11:20 am GMT (2:20 pm Mecca time), although the billionaire gave no details on when he would step down if the final poll results call for it.
Should I step down as head of Twitter?
I will abide by the results of this poll.

As of the time of writing this report, the results of the survey indicate that 57% of respondents answered yes, while 43% of them answered no.
In response to a Twitter user's comment on a possible successor to the CEO position, Musk said, "There is no successor."
Musk told a court in Delaware - last November - that he would cut back on his time on Twitter and eventually find a new leader to run the company.
The survey follows Twitter's policy update on Sunday, which banned accounts created solely for the purpose of promoting other social media companies and content containing links or usernames to competing platforms.
Minutes before the poll, Musk apologized and wrote on his Twitter account, "From now on, there will be a vote on major political changes."
Going forward, there will be a vote for major policy changes.
My apologies.
Won't happen again.

A few hours after this tweet was written, Twitter published a survey asking users if the platform should have a policy that blocks accounts advertising on other social media platforms on Twitter.
The support center on Twitter said - in a tweet - that the policy update will affect content from other social media platforms, such as "Facebook" and "Instagram", as well as the "Mastodon" and "Truth Social" platforms. (Truth Social).
Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, who recently invested in social media platform Nostr, responded to the Twitter post with one word: "Why?"
Responding to another user's post about banning Noster's promotion, Dorsey said, "It doesn't make sense."
Why?

The list did not include the short video platform TikTok, owned by the Chinese company, ByteDance.
Last week, Twitter dissolved the Trust and Safety Council, a group of volunteers formed in 2016 to advise the social media platform on its decisions.
Immediately upon assuming the helm of Twitter, Musk sacked senior management and laid off about half of the staff, while he vacillated over how much to pay for the Twitter Blue subscription service.
Musk also suspended the accounts of several journalists due to the controversy surrounding the publication of public statements about his private plane, and restored those accounts after criticism from government officials, lobbyists and several press organizations last Friday, as they saw that the Twitter platform endangered the freedom of the press.
