The Directorate of Culture in Tartous governorate, in cooperation with the (Nagham wa Qalam) center, organized purposeful literary and theatrical activities to celebrate the National Day to encourage reading, which is organized by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with its directorates in the governorates, under the title (My book is my window with a colored letter).
The director of the Cultural Center in Tartous, Nagham Center and Pen Mona Asaad, stated in a statement to SANA that the event includes various literary activities emphasizing the importance and role of the Arabic language, including a theatrical performance entitled (I will not forget my language) and readings for the children of the literary platform within the initiative (My Letters), noting that the activities Today's introduction is prepared and implemented by the Nagham Wa Qalam Center and the Life Skills Team.
Theatrical director Hassan Nasr stressed the importance of theater and its role in conveying and consolidating the concept of the Arabic language and the necessity of preserving it, pointing out that the work, even if it was presented in two languages, is proof and confirmation of the existence of the Arabic language and its deep presence.
Khader Hamdan, a seventh-grade student who won first place in the Arab Reading Challenge competition at the level of Tartous governorate, presented his experience, which he described as rich and helped him reach it through constant reading of various types of books, calling on children to pay more attention to the subject of reading in order to develop their linguistic and literary skills and abilities.
The student in the same school stage, Elma Muhanna, who presented the activities of the celebration, had a poetry reading of two texts entitled (On the Pavement - A Bad Farewell Memory). Choosing him as a message and invitation to live in security and peace.
