Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed during his meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk today that Russia is ready to develop nuclear projects in Belarus, and to prepare the necessary cadres for that.

“We are building a nuclear power plant and the first reactor in it is operating, and it replaces about 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas, and we are ready to continue developing this project, but the most important thing is that we are ready, and we are establishing industry and training national cadres,” Putin said, according to Novosti news agency. in Belarus and develop science in an appropriate manner.”

Putin pointed out that Moscow and Minsk have agreements on the matter, pointing to an increase in the volume of trade exchange between the two countries by 10 percent during the ten months of this year, and it may reach a record value of about 40 billion.

Putin stressed that Belarus is not only a good neighbor to Russia but also an ally, and accordingly all economic issues are resolved.

In turn, the Belarusian president expressed his hope that the voice of reason would prevail in the European Union, stressing that Moscow and Minsk are open to dialogue with him.

Lukashenko said: Russia and Belarus are open to dialogue with other countries, including European countries, and I hope that they will soon listen to the voice of reason and move to constructive negotiations in the areas of public security and the future world order.

Lukashenko stressed that these difficult times require a unified political will from Russia and Belarus.
