The members of the Mexican group RBD arrived this Monday with an early Christmas gift for their followers.

Dulce María, Maite Perroni, Anahí, Christopher von Uckermann and Christian Chávez left their Instagram profiles blank, the band members changed their profile photo to the RBD logo and uploaded a video containing intertwined parts of the soap opera and a dinner they had at the end of November.

What came of this dinner?

The band will announce it in a month.

The great absentee in the videos and from that dinner is Alfonso "Poncho" Herrera.

Although no details have been given, his followers comment on social networks that it could be a presentation, similar to the one they did at the virtual concert "Ser o Parecer" held two years ago, in December 2020.

This presentation won the Latin American Music Award for Favorite Virtual Concert.

RBD's career

Rebelde is a telenovela from the early 2000s that emerged as the Mexican adaptation of "Rebelde Way", an Argentine production created by Cris Morena.

The production was broadcast in different countries of Latin America, managing to amass followers throughout the region.

The group RBD, made up of its protagonists, came out of that soap opera.

In 2004, the band released their album "Rebelde" which, according to Universal Music Mexico, quickly managed to be certified with a diamond disc and a gold disc in Mexico.

RBD made its way in Latin America, including Brazil, where to this day the band and its members (even though they launch separate projects) are all the rage.

RBD's first album also obtained a gold record in Brazil and Ecuador, a triple platinum record in Colombia and a platinum record in Chile.

A year later they released “Nuestro amor”, their second record production.

RBD's internationalization came with “Celestial”, their third album released in 2006. This production obtained a gold record in Romania and Spain, among other countries.

With the production, the band also gave a nod to their Brazilian fans by editing the entire album in Portuguese.

That same year they released their first album in English, "Rebels", which also came with a box office success with a world tour in which they sold more than 10 million tickets, says Universal Music Mexico.

His last album was "Part of me", released in 2009.

The influence of the band is such that singers like Bad Bunny, Karol G, Becky G, Camila Cabello, among others, have shared videos on their social networks singing some of their hits.
