Syrian television reported this evening (Monday) on an air force attack in the Damascus area.
According to government media in Syria, the air defense systems were activated against the attack in the vicinity of the capital.
Before that, the echoes of explosions were reported in the area.
Earlier this month, media outlets affiliated with the Syrian opposition reported on an attack against a radar station in the vicinity of the city of al-Sawida' in southern Syria. Following this, foreign sources reported that the air force distributed leaflets warning the Assad army about the presence of Hezbollah personnel there.
It was recently announced in Arab media that Iran has started operating a new flight line between Tehran and Beirut.
The fear is that this route will replace the traditional weapons smuggling route through Syrian airports.
These sites, according to foreign reports, were a major target of attacks.
