Macabre discovery on Saturday in the heart of Cahors, in the Lot.
The body of a man in his fifties, who bore several traces of injuries, was found in the stairwell of a building on rue Fondue-Basse, not far from the town hall.
In view of the circumstances that did not allow doubt about the criminal nature of the facts, the public prosecutor of Cahors, Alexandre Rossi, opened an investigation for "intentional homicide".
Quickly, a man in his sixties living in Cahors was taken into police custody shortly after this discovery and was still there on Sunday afternoon.
The Toulouse judicial police have been instructed to continue the investigations in this case.
