A coronation would have brought in a much higher windfall, but the FFF will be satisfied to have almost reached the figures for 2018, with a jackpot of 32.5 million euros won at the time.
The benefit of the World
The FFF will thus generate a profit during the World Cup in Qatar.
In its provisional budget for the 2022-2023 financial year, presented to the General Assembly in June, the body had indeed integrated an elimination of the Blues in the quarter-finals, a scenario which already assured it, according to its projections, a positive financial result. .
The "3F" envisaged in June expenditure of 16 million euros for the entire tournament until the quarter-finals, including 4.8 million euros for accommodation costs in the base camp of the Blues at the al-Messila hotel, a five-star resort west of Doha.
These figures were adjusted to the margin in September, including in particular the cost of travel to Qatar for the families of the players and the staff after the round of 16.
Part of these costs was covered by the players but the amount of the trip was not filtered.

The Federation also invited all its employees to attend the final on Sunday, as well as presidents of Leagues and districts, a gesture which includes accommodation and air transport.
“We are aware of being important for French football.
We know the impact that this has, not only in terms of image, but at the financial and economic level", defender Raphaël Varane recently explained in Doha, while stressing the importance of quickly evacuating the negotiation of bonuses before great competition.
“As vice-captain, we have this kind of additional responsibility and we try to settle them as soon as possible before the tournament to be “focused” on the field.
