Neither the conflict nor the neglect of the state have prevented the towns on stilt houses in the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta from preserving their authenticity.
The wooden houses of all colors and the boats draw the landscape of Buenavista, one of the hamlets located in the lagoon.
In them, time seems to stand still because the Internet only arrived a few months ago, cell phone connections are weak, and very few families have a television.
The inhabitants of this floating town are enthusiastic and believe that things are going to get better, despite the adversities they experience when the fishing is not good or the fact that time passes much slower there than in big cities.
