The head of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, Vladimir Bulavin, announced the import of 2.4 million tons of goods worth more than $20 billion into the country through the mechanism of parallel imports,

“Parallel imports ... were conceived as a significant measure of support for both business and our economy ... During this time, 2.4 million tons of goods worth more than $ 20 billion were imported,” RIA Novosti quotes him with reference to an interview with the TV channel “ Russia 24".

According to Bulavin, first of all, imports touched on cars, machine tools, equipment, light industry goods and production lines.

The head of the FCS stressed that the parallel import mechanism does not affect the growth of counterfeit volumes, since in the first case, the import of original products is implied.

In early December, Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said that the agency had proposed to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to expand the list of goods for parallel imports.

In November, Russian Post began delivering purchases from European online stores.
