The branch of the General Organization for Seed Multiplication in Daraa announced the continuation of the sale of seeds for the benefit of farmers and agricultural associations, during official holidays, except for Friday.
The branch manager, Eng. Samer Al-Zamil, stated in a statement to SANA reporter today that the branch is coordinating with branches of agricultural banks operating in the governorate to transfer money according to the approved principles.
Al-Zamil explained that the sale of seeds to farmers contracting with the “Proliferative Fields” branch is about to end, with an amount of 993 tons of wheat seed out of 1019 tons and 119 tons of barley seed out of 122 tons, indicating that the branch has a plan to produce 13 thousand tons of seed. Wheat and 500 tons of barley seed are implemented in cooperation with contract farmers.
He added: The operations of selling seeds for the benefit of farmers individually and farmer associations collectively continue, and the quantity sold to date has reached 3815 tons of wheat seed and 181 tons of barley seed, indicating that the branch has a stock of 1255 tons of wheat seed and 13664 tons of wheat seed sifted and sterilized. The raw wheat is successively screened and sterilized.
