25 days after the parliamentary investigation plan passed the plenary session, the first plenary meeting was held only for the three opposition parties.

[Woo Sang-ho/Chairperson of the Special Committee on State Affairs (Democratic Party of Korea): The government investigation into the Itaewon disaster, which is the people's firm order and the earnest desire of the bereaved families, could no longer be postponed.]

While the People's Power members were absent, the investigation schedule and witnesses were first confirmed. .

The day after tomorrow and on the 23rd, we decided to conduct on-site inspections of the site of the disaster, the Itaewon police box, and the Seoul City Hall.

On the 27th and 29th, it was decided to receive reports from agencies such as the Presidential Office, the Office of State Affairs, the Office of the Prime Minister, the Supreme Prosecutor's Office, and the Yongsan Police Station.

The witnesses of the hearings scheduled to be held on the 2nd, 4th, and 6th of next month were decided by the ruling and opposition parties to make a final decision, but 89 people from 16 institutions were listed.

In addition to Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang-min and National Police Agency Commissioner General Yoon Hee-geun, witnesses include Han Oh-seop, head of the State Affairs Situation Office at the Presidential Office, Son Kwang-je, head of the National Security Office's Crisis Management Center, and Shin Bong-soo, chief of the anti-corruption division at the Supreme Prosecutor's Office.

The power of the people protested that it was a runaway of the huge opposition party, saying that the plenary meeting was unilaterally held even though the budget bill agreement, a prerequisite for the state affairs investigation, had not been processed.

[Jang Dong-hyuk/People's Power Hospital Spokesperson: There must be a half national tide.

There have been a total of 77 requests for a parliamentary investigation over the past 20 years, but no one side has conducted it alone like this time.]

Even if the budget negotiations are concluded and the members of the ruling party return, there are many issues such as the adoption of witnesses for the hearing and the extension of the period. The conflict between the two parties is likely to continue.
