In January of last year, right after the US presidential election was over, Trump supporters broke into the US Congress to block Biden's congressional confirmation process.

The United States was shocked by the unprecedented incident that even resulted in casualties, and the US House of Representatives set up a special investigation committee led by the Democratic Party in July of last year to investigate whether former President Trump was involved.

After a year and a half of activity, the special committee made a recommendation that former President Trump should be criminally prosecuted for four charges, including incitement to rebellion and obstruction of the execution of a doctor.

[Liz Cheney/US Republican Congressman: Anyone who does such an act, even for a moment, should never rise again to any position of authority in this country.

Trump is not fit for any position.]

The special committee judged that former President Trump had instigated his supporters to intervene in the congressional riot and deliberately spread false information that his presidential election was fraudulent.

He also saw that former President Trump was involved in an attempt by some Trump supporters to tamper with the electoral college.

[Adam Schiff/Democratic House Representative: These intentionally manipulated documents (electoral list, etc.) were delivered to several officials in the federal government for the purpose of interfering with the work of the US government.]

This decision by the House Special Committee is not legally enforceable. With no recommendation, the Department of Justice will decide whether to prosecute former President Trump.
