As the second phase of the fifteenth Conference of the Parties (COP15) of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15) held in Montreal, Canada draws to a close, the China Corner in the venue of the conference also ushered in the last side event on December 18 .

The China Corner is a special area set up by the Chinese side in the venue of the conference, which integrates the functions of special exhibitions, conference discussions, featured promotions, and cultural displays.

Since the opening of the conference, it has been a popular place to attract people in the venue.

The China Corner, which covers an area of about 380 square meters, is located in a prominent position next to the main passage of the venue.

The designer has paid a lot of attention to the conception and design of this space.

Its overall structure embodies the traditional Chinese philosophy of "round sky and earth".

The ring-shaped shape hanging above implies the earth's biosphere, and is mainly decorated with Chinese classical green landscapes, fine brushwork flowers and birds, and scenes such as Song Dynasty's "Listening to the Qin Picture" painted by Panasonic playing the piano and appreciating music, which not only reflects the traditional Chinese culture's relationship between man and nature. I understand and fit the atmosphere of the venue.

The ground layout abstractly draws on the style of Chinese classical gardens, and also separates the exhibition display area and the side meeting discussion area through arcs containing Tai Chi elements.

The twelve zodiac signs are used as screens, and the columns depict rare and endangered species in China such as alligator, Siberian tiger, giant panda, antelope, Asian elephant, and crested ibis.

There are also rare flowers from Yunnan, "seed banks", natural plant dyes, plant spices, etc. on display here, which not only presents the diversity of Chinese species resources represented by Yunnan, but also demonstrates the social and economic benefits brought by biodiversity.

The reason why China Corner attracts people to stop is not only because of its excellent "location" and exquisite design and exhibition full of "Chinese style", but also because of the dense and rich series of side events and theme exhibitions. Chinese stories and experiences of biodiversity conservation.

In the past two weeks since the official opening of the conference on December 7, China Corner has held a total of 8 themed publicity days in Yunnan, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Sichuan, Jiangxi, Guangxi, Hainan and corporate theme days, and nearly 30 theme days Activities such as side meetings, supplemented by cultural displays such as tea art and calligraphy, have always been "online".

From the analysis of the concept of ecological civilization, to sharing how to realize the harmonious coexistence between man and nature in combination with the actual situation; from how China innovatively established the ecological protection red line system, to how local communities can participate in biodiversity conservation; System reform and practice, to explore how to realize investment in nature; from ecological protection in arid areas, to how to promote biodiversity conservation through climate change mitigation; from how the young generation and women groups play unique roles, to multi-stakeholder Participation; from how the business community can coordinate to deal with the biodiversity crisis and climate crisis, to how the financial industry and non-state actors can help... A series of side events cover all aspects of biodiversity conservation, and there are many cutting-edge topics.

Representatives from different regions of China also shared their own characteristic cases in the series of side events.

For example, how does Jiangxi protect rare and endangered species such as blue-crowned babblers and white cranes; how does Jiangsu carry out large-scale natural ecological protection actions; Parks, how Shanghai builds a modern super metropolis where humans and nature live in harmony, how Yunnan protects extremely small populations of species, how Huzhou, Zhejiang promotes the realization of the value of ecological products with high quality, and how Luoshan County, Xinyang City, Henan Province builds a biodiversity model.

Tian Chengchuan, director of the Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China, said that with the joint efforts of all exhibitors, the China Corner has become a showcase for China's biodiversity conservation achievements, telling stories about China's biodiversity conservation, showing the beauty of China's biodiversity, and disseminating Business card of Chinese traditional culture.

Alenja, representative of the Global Youth Biodiversity Network in Congo (Kinshasa), said that the achievements in natural ecological protection in various parts of China that he learned at the China Corner are impressive; China's experience is worth understanding and learning from other countries.

The significance of the China Corner is not only to showcase the work that China has done, but also to allow all participants to learn from it and apply it according to local conditions.
