Where could PV ground-mounted systems be built in Wartenberg?

A directory might help.

Wartenberg – The Wartenberg market could have a so-called solar potential area cadastre created.

At the meeting of the market town council, Alexandru Steininger was given the opportunity to present his concept for such a directory.

However, not all municipal councils are enthusiastic about open-space photovoltaic systems.

Steininger is the managing director of the company "power2nature" from Forstinning (Ebersberg district) and was already active in Fraunberg.

Roughly speaking, his company's service consists of locating areas on which open-space photovoltaic systems can be built.

In the second step, the property owners are to be involved and, if possible, persuaded to start generating energy.

In this phase, it must also be clarified whether it is even possible to integrate a solar power plant into the power grid at this point.

Up to now, according to one of his core statements, a municipality could only react if a landowner intended to build a larger system on his area.

Then a construction management procedure must be carried out every time.

The electricity supplier is also regularly heard in these proceedings.

As a representative of public interests, there is also a statement as to whether it can be fed in at all.

The editors have received reports that there may already be considerable difficulties.

When asked about a specific project, the press office of Stadtwerke München stated that the feed-in was impossible.

Steininger also listed a whole range of other exclusion criteria, such as nature reserves or forest areas.

Of course there is competition for space, he admitted.

This is exactly where the participants in the intensive debate got involved.

Josef Sedlmayr (CSU) sharply opposed further open space systems on agricultural land, even calling them "impossible".

It is important, he emphasized, not to take more land away from food production.

Dominik Rutz (Greens) also recognized this problem, but was looking for a compromise, for example in the area of Agri-PV, i.e. a process for the simultaneous use of land for agricultural plant production and PV electricity production.

Steininger was able to at least provide concrete examples of this.

Martin Hamberger (CSU) wanted to know how the flood areas were doing.

The speaker said that these require a special review.

The modules are regularly elevated, so that is quite conceivable.

Carla Marx (Neue Mitte) was interested in the lifetime of such a system.

Steininger assumes 30 years.

There was agreement that the energy transition must be pushed forward.

Whether that would have to be open space systems, and on agricultural land at that?

In fact, there are guidelines from the government that have been positively commented on in some contributions to the discussion.

Along the Autobahn, for example, something like this would make more sense, several said.

Rutz absolutely wanted existing roof areas to be preferred, whereupon Markus Straßberger (CSU) reminded that work was being done on them at the same time.

The company was not commissioned at the meeting, the topic will be on the agenda again in January.
