Weather warning for the region - winter dream does not last long

Winter has Munich firmly under control.
In the past few days, snow has fallen again and again, and at the weekend the sun turned the city into a winter paradise.
But it's getting milder.
Munich - That hadn't existed in the Bavarian capital for a long time.
Temperatures well below zero degrees, a closed, thick blanket of snow as far as the eye can see - just real winter weather.
In the past few days it snowed heavily at times, then cleared up at the weekend, which is causing the temperatures to drop now.
Already on the night of Saturday, December 17th, it was down to minus eight degrees.
Sunday's will be even colder.
Weather: Arctic temperatures in Munich - official warning issued
The German Weather Service has therefore issued a weather warning.
There is a frost warning in the city area, with temperatures dropping to minus five degrees.
Outside the city limits there are even warnings of "severe frost", here it can get cold to minus twelve degrees.
On top of that, there is slipperiness, so care should be taken whenever you are out and about.
The warning applies until Sunday at 11 a.m.
But the extreme cold also has advantages: the clear sky allows the sun to conjure up a real winter wonderland in Munich at the weekend.

But the cold weather won't last long.

predicts, it will be significantly milder from the beginning of next week.
As early as Monday, December 19, the daily values will rise to plus five degrees, and by Wednesday the maximum values will even be plus seven degrees.
The German weather service warns: The night of Sunday, December 18th, will be cold.

The nights are also getting milder again, then – as of now – the temperatures are supposed to drop to just under zero degrees.
It's supposed to rain all the time.
So if you want to enjoy the winter again, a walk on Sunday is recommended.
Who knows when Munich will shine in the snow again.
