China News Service, Chengdu, December 20th (Reporter Zhang Lang) The reporter learned from China Energy Construction Gezhouba Electromechanical Company on the 20th that on that day, the company undertook the task of electromechanical installation and commissioning in the world's largest, most technically difficult, single-machine capacity Unit 9, the last unit of the Jinshajiang Baihetan Hydropower Station, the largest hydropower project, successfully completed a 72-hour test run and officially put into commercial operation, marking that the Baihetan Hydropower Station was fully put into operation for power generation.

Baihetan Hydropower Station has eight sets of the world's largest 1 million-kilowatt hydro-generator set installed on the left and right banks, with a total installed capacity of 16 million kilowatts. It is the world's largest hydropower station under construction and the world's second largest installed capacity. It is known as the "Mount Everest" of the hydropower industry in the world today.

The world's largest single-unit capacity and power of one million kilowatts of hydroelectric generators has achieved a major breakthrough in China's high-end equipment manufacturing.

China Energy Construction Gezhouba Electromechanical Co., Ltd. undertook the installation and commissioning of 8 million-kilowatt generating units and their auxiliary equipment on the right bank of the power station.

Since the start of construction in 2019, the project has repeatedly set the record for the world's first million-kilowatt unit to take the lead in generating the first kilowatt-hour of electricity, and all units have achieved three firsts: "one-time installation, one-time start-up, and one-time commissioning", "million-kilowatt units" Zero counterweight" and other records, and advanced figures such as "Great Craftsman" Mei Lin, and the national "May 1st Heroine Model" Zhang Dongmei emerged.

The first batch of units of Baihetan Hydropower Station will be put into operation on June 28, 2021.

After the Baihetan Hydropower Station is fully put into operation, the average annual power generation is 62.4 billion kwh, which can save about 19.68 million tons of standard coal and reduce about 51.6 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year. It will improve the surrounding ecological environment and help my country achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality Goals matter.

At that time, Baihetan Hydropower Station will form the world's largest clean energy corridor together with Wudongde, Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba, Three Gorges and Gezhouba, providing a steady stream of green power for the Yangtze River Economic Belt and China's economic development.
