The background to the shooting in which Firas Hiv and his son were murdered is another incident that happened in the city last week • The two were killed on their way home when the father picked up the baby from the nursery • Residents say: the "blood revenge" that plagues the area is an unprecedented event

The bloody conflict in Nazareth is far from over.

"Israel Hayom" learned that the double murder in Nazareth comes against the background of a battle between two criminal families: the Bakri family and the Hariri family.

Firas Hiv, 33 years old from Nazareth, and his two-year-old toddler son were shot at noon today (Tuesday).

The two were taken to the English Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The medical team fought for the baby's life, but in the evening his heart stopped.

Hiv, who belongs to the Hariri family, was murdered after he took his son Fars out of daycare while he was in his car on their way home.

In the meantime, the commissioner of the RN Yaakov Shabtai visited the scene of the event in Nazareth.

An anxious city: "Praying to return safe and sound"

The murder in Nazareth comes as a response to another murder that took place about a week ago in the city of Nazareth, in which Raed Zoevi, who belongs to the crime organization of the Bakri family, was shot.

In recent years, Nazareth has been going through bloody conflicts and struggles for control between organizations and crime families.

"When I go out in the morning, I pray to return safe and sound to my family," the resident of the city tells Israel Hayom.

"I pray that I don't accidentally get a stray bullet from assassinations and accidental shootings," residents say with concern.

"In recent years, the situation has reached a state we have never known before, my children return from school and do not leave the house at all. The fear in the streets is palpable, there is no enforcement and the shootings and assassinations are on the rise."

Meanwhile, outgoing Minister of Internal Security Amr Bar Lev commented on the incident.

"There are no shortcuts in the fight against crime in Arab society," said Minister Bar Lev.

"More than once, as unfortunately happened to a toddler today, an innocent person through no fault of his own fell into the firing range and paid for it with his life. The Israel Police will continue to act with full force and determination against the criminals."
