At the press conference after the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Söder spoke about many big issues - and made some serious announcements.

Nuremberg – Following the Christmas cabinet, the last cabinet meeting in 2022, Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU), Economics Minister Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters), Science Minister Markus Blume (CSU) and State Chancellery Minister Florian Herrmann (CSU) invited to the subsequent press conference in Nuremberg .

In this Söder informed about numerous decisions that were made and about various inventories.

Some of them were provided with a real bang.

"Aid and future concepts for Bavaria": Söder with far-reaching announcements on energy aid

First of all, the press conference is about the second part of the hardship fund, which Söder says has been launched.

Keyword citizens: "Should the measures taken by the federal government not work [...], then we have made an energy blocking protection," says Söder.

This means that if there is a risk of energy being blocked because the bills can no longer be paid and the measures taken by the federal government are not effective, the Free State of Bavaria will step in and pay the bill.

"Nobody, nobody in Bavaria should run the risk of being blocked because of excessive energy costs," promises Söder.

On top of that.

The second is to implement the federal program for oil and pellets.

Here, too, there is now a solution, according to Söder – if the price of oil doubles, 80 percent of the additional costs incurred will be reimbursed from the point in time of the doubling (maximum 2000 euros), processed by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

"Finally there is also a solution for oil and pellets," says the Prime Minister happily.

In addition, an aid program was launched for all other areas of public and social life in order to “keep Bavaria going”.

Full coverage has been achieved, Söder announces, and lists the areas of hospitals, social institutions and sports clubs as examples.

In some cases there is also a lump-sum support that does not only apply in the event of a threat to existence.

"We're helping all of Bavaria with it," says Söder.

Corona aid in focus - and an emotional defense of the future museum in Nuremberg

Also an important topic at the press conference: Corona aid.

Söder starts with the concern of many citizens that they will have to repay – in part – the aid provided.

An improvement has been achieved here, according to the CSU boss.

The repayment check will continue to be made, but with more goodwill.

In cases of hardship, such as a threat to existence, there will be a waiver of the reclaim, with “extensive deferrals of two years or installment payments”.

At the end of his speech at the press conference, Söder once again summarized the controversial future museum in Nuremberg.

He is a "fervent fan" of this, so Söder - correspondingly emotionally he emphasizes the importance of the museum.

There is hardly anything like it, it is a museum "sui generis" (unique in its characteristics) and has already attracted 150,000 visitors.

So people voted with their feet whether they liked the museum, explains Söder.

In addition, it has received European awards and was "financially very soundly financed".

There had been a lot of fuss about Söder's prestige property over the course of the year - it had ended up in the tax black book with gigantic rental costs, among other things.

Other points of the PK: Bavaria's lawsuit against inheritance tax, Ukraine aid and Söder's summary

In addition to the major issues of energy aid, corona repayments and Söder's emotional future museum defense, it almost went unnoticed that the Bavarian Prime Minister made further announcements.

Bavaria will sue the inheritance tax, Söder said, and send Ukraine a five million program - including heaters and emergency power generators.

In addition, with regard to the issue of labor migration, the order was given to open Bavarian offices in the European cities of Tirana (Albania), Belgrade (Serbia) and Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina) in order to provide jobs and speed up the issuing of visas.

Finally, Söder took a look into the future.

He is an optimist, the sun will shine again over Bavaria - "And even the coldest winter has a beautiful spring and summer as a result," said the CSU boss.
