DHL customer makes amusing discovery on parcel label

The Free State of Bavaria is always ready to go its own way.

However, a parcel sender pushes the desire for more independence to the extreme.

Munich – "I have nothing against Germans, but I just feel like a Bavarian." This statement by Florian Weber, chairman of the Bavarian party, underlines what some non-Bavarians often assume.

The Free State is an isolated case with a great need for independence and autonomy.

The southernmost state made a name for itself during the corona pandemic under Prime Minister Markus Söder with the Bavarian special path.

Jokes about efforts to achieve independence – in the case of the Bavarian party even to secede from federal Germany – go down well in Bavaria and in Germany.

And in rare cases even a Bavarian makes fun of his homeland.

A Twitter user also noticed one of these cases when he held a DHL package from Bavaria in his hands.

A closer look at the parcel label revealed what the sender - a Bavarian - thinks about the uniqueness of his federal state.

Because on the left side of the note, reserved for the sender, Bavaria was stated as the place of departure.

On the right-hand side, the sender entered Germany as the country of the recipient.

"Oh!

A package from abroad!” the addressee rejoiced.

Parcel from Bavaria to Germany – across German national borders

One commenter noticed this too.

"Sent from Bavaria to Germany," he correctly captured.

After the quasi-international parcel shipment even had to cross a national border, sender and recipient can be happy not to have to pay customs duties.

Because import fees and the like can be surprisingly expensive - especially in other EU countries.

Bavaria would be included in this for the time being, if the Bavarian party were ever successful with its separatist efforts.

A "Bayxit" doesn't seem entirely impossible if you take the Spanish autonomous federal state of Catalonia as a model.

Meanwhile, Christmas is getting closer and stress levels are rising.
