This find is a mystery to the police: in a van, the officers found several art paintings of unknown origin in addition to half a tonne of unrefrigerated and unpackaged meat.
Oberau – This find is a mystery: in a Mercedes Sprinter with Albanian registration, the investigators found several art paintings whose origin is unclear and around 500 kilos of meat during a check on Sunday evening in Oberau.
A 42-year-old Albanian driver and a 28-year-old Albanian passenger were traveling with the van.
The meat was loose, uncooled and stowed in various suitcases and sports bags without any packaging and was apparently, as the police reported, transported from Albania to Germany.
The district office ordered the destruction of the food because contamination with possible animal diseases could not be ruled out.
The art paintings were confiscated.
