In a town in Styria (Austria), a goods deliverer discovers three lifeless people in a house.
A mistake in heating probably poisoned the mother and her sons.
Fischbach – In Austria, three people have been found dead in their home.
A deliverer discovered the lifeless people in a family house in the municipality of Fischbach (Styria) on Monday morning (December 19), the Austrian police said.
He immediately made an emergency call.
Austria: the deliverer finds three bodies in a family home – the cause of death is clear
According to the police, a "mobile heating variant" may have led to the death of the 90-year-old woman and her two sons (67 and 68 years old).
In the basement of the house, the residents started an emergency power generator, “to which they in turn connected a fan heater.
Due to a lack of fresh air, the house filled with toxic exhaust fumes.” This led to the death of the three people.
With a high degree of probability, Saturday afternoon (December 17) is considered the time of death.
According to the police, there is no evidence of a violent crime.
An autopsy of the bodies had been ordered by the public prosecutor.
Electric fan heaters generally do not emit any toxic fumes.
The toxic exhaust fumes from the emergency generator presumably reached the living quarters from the basement.
There was no adequate supply of fresh air.
