Leinefelde – Drama on the A38 in Thuringia: A wrong-way driver caused a serious accident with at least three deaths.

As the police in Hermsdorf announced on Tuesday, the Mercedes with a German license plate drove from a parking lot in the wrong direction onto the autobahn.

After about three kilometers he collided with an oncoming Mitsubishi.

The wrong-way driver and at least two occupants of the other car died, according to the police.

The Mitsubishi was therefore so deformed that the fire department had to cut out the fatalities.

According to the information, the wrong-way driver was traveling towards Göttingen on the side of the autobahn leading towards Leipzig.

After about three kilometers there was a collision with the Mitsubishi.

The freeway was closed in both directions for the accident investigation.
