Two soldiers and six civilians were killed in attacks over the weekend in northern and eastern Burkina Faso.
The news agency AFP quoted a security source as saying: The bomb explosion on a highway killed two and wounded five members of the security forces last Saturday in Borum, north of the country.
Another security source said that in a separate attack, gunmen killed six civilians and looted bus passengers in Kokodi village, near the border with Ghana.
Since 2015, Burkina Faso has witnessed repeated terrorist attacks, which have resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries, and the displacement of about two million people from their homes.
