"Discover everything you can be", invites EL PAÍS CON TU FUTURO (EPCTF), an event that will take 23 professionals on stage so that, in small eight-minute talks, they will explain what their job is and why it is a job for the future .

They will do it in person, at the Kinépolis cinemas in Madrid, before an audience made up of 975 first and second year high school students from Madrid schools and institutes.

It will be on December 21, thanks to the sponsorship of Airbus, Cepsa, Iberia, EY, Santander and UNED.

Anyone who wants to connect can watch it live through EL PAÍS, and recorded at www.elpaiscontufuturo.com.

“A globalized, digitized and ever-changing world needs the professions, as we knew them, to evolve and adapt to the society of the moment.

Our objective is to bring today's young people, professionals of the future, closer to the new reality", argue the organizers, who encourage those who are currently in the position of having to decide what to do to dedicate themselves to participate, and guide their professional career. .

It is, as they add, a perfect forum to discover what the jobs of the future are and resolve doubts.

The talk on the future of work, given by Juan José Suárez, national manager of the Professional Guidance Project of the Bertelsmann Foundation, will help to contextualize the event.

EPCTF offers the chance to hear about what it means to be an expert in the environment, sustainability or ESG within a company from Marien Benavente, Head of Corporate Environmental Protection at Cepsa, and Gema Plaza Muñoz, Head of Sustainability and Environment at Airbus Spain ;

on auditing to Fernando González Cuervo, partner and head of the construction sector for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at EY;

cybersecurity to Rosalía Machín Prieto, captain of the Civil Guard;

innovation and transformation strategies to Ignacio Tovar del Marmol, director of Innovation and Digital Transformation of Iberia;

of aging to Manuel Collado, director of the cellular senescence, cancer and aging laboratory of the Health Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela, IDIS.

The future lies in professions such as UX/UI design, industrial engineering or materials science, which is the path that Isabel Díaz, doctor in chemistry and assistant vice president of Internationalization and Cooperation at the CSIC, has chosen to help: her lines of research address the use of natural zeolites in the removal of fluoride and arsenic from drinking water in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and India, as he will explain during his speech.

multidisciplinary groups

In 2022 the ninth EL PAÍS CON TU FUTURO takes place (there are two others held in Mexico).

The first editions took place in two parallel rooms: one with presentations and more technical and scientific themes, and another with more social and humanities content.

The experience has led the organizers to conclude that the division between sciences and letters tends to blur, and that the new professions increasingly require greater hybridity and multidisciplinary groups with different training, abilities and skills, who have to work together.

So already last year, EPCTF had only one room.

In this one he repeats the single scenario strategy.

Cristina Carrascosa, lawyer and CEO of ATH21 (the first law firm in Spain specialized in

blockchain

and

crypto

) has to deal with more technical profiles in his law firm.

Just like María Guix, PhD in chemistry, a Ramón y Cajal researcher at the University of Barcelona, she collaborates with engineers, and has trained herself in nanotechnology, to orient herself towards bioengineering.

Iria da Cunha, PhD in Language Sciences and Applied Linguistics, contracted professor with a doctorate at UNED, number member of the Young Academy of Spain, addresses computational linguistics side by side with computer experts.

And when Carmen Reina, responsible for Data Culture and Artificial Intelligence at Orange Spain, lectures on Artificial Intelligence, she does so from the perspective of mathematics (her training) involved in management and business strategy (her professional background ).

They will all bring her experience to the EPCTF.

The event will take place between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and will have a break that participants will be able to take advantage of to visit the

stands

that Airbus, Cepsa, Iberia, EY and UNED have set up outside the auditorium.
