The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will recount the legacy of international personalities and activists in a six-part series on Netflix. Its premiere takes place in the midst of the controversy that has confronted them with the British royal family

The Show Must Go On

.

Not even a week has passed since the last chapters of the series of the Dukes of Sussex saw the light.

And when it seemed that the next storm would come at the beginning of the year, with the publication of Prince Harry's memoir, Netflix has surprised again by announcing the premiere of a new documentary series presented by both on December 31.

For once, they will not be the protagonists, they will only be in charge of telling the stories of others.

Live to Lead

, which is the name of the production, will focus on the careers of some international personalities such as Greta Thunberg and former South African President Nelson Mandela, among others.

The trailer begins with Prince Harry explaining that the South African president has served as the inspiration for the documentary.

He accompanies Markle saying: "What counts in life is not that we have lived it, but the difference we create in the lives of others."

It is about a project that was not known until the platform published the preview this Monday, December 19, but that is part of the million-dollar contract that the dukes have with Netflix.

US media have stated that said agreement would be valued at more than 100 million euros, money that helped the couple upon their arrival in the United States after leaving the British royal house in March 2020. The beginnings of said agreement were not good.

The new project thus focuses on "people who have made courageous decisions", who have fought for change and have managed to become leaders, as the couple points out in advance.

The series will have seven 25-minute episodes, all of them produced by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and in which they will interview current world leaders such as the famous climate change activist, Greta Thunberg;

former United States Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg;

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern;

social justice advocate Bryan Stevenson;

the captain of the South African rugby team and activist for social inequality, Siya Kolisi;

feminist icon and activist Gloria Steinem;

and the judge of the Constitutional Court of South Africa, Albie Sachs.

Precisely, Mandela is the figure with which Markle compared himself to explain how he entered the British royal family and his subsequent departure, referring to the 27 years in which the president was imprisoned in subhuman conditions.

Some words that did not sit well with the president's grandson and that he took it upon himself to criticize publicly.

After the broadcast of the six controversial chapters on the history of Enrique and Meghan, in recent weeks, the couple has kept a low profile, but this announcement, together with their plans for the future, such as the publication of a biography by Enrique, presage a few months of media activity for the couple.

His recent documentary has reopened the war against the princes of Wales: “I have spent 30 years observing behind the scenes how the system works and how it is managed.

There are constant meetings about favors, invitations to the press... Things are leaked and stories are made up," Enrique said in one of the chapters.

The reaction since Buckingham has been a regal and condescending silence.
