Thousands of migrants crowd after extension of Title 42 5:12
(CNN) --
US President Joe Biden will travel to Mexico next month for a North American Leaders Summit, the White House said Tuesday.
The president will be in Mexico City between January 9 and 10, said John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator for the National Security Council.
The summit will bring together Biden with the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, and with the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau.
The North American Leaders Summit is typically an annual summit of the leaders of the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
This is how the Biden administration prepares for a wave of immigrants before the end of Title 42
The last one was convened in Washington in 2021. The meeting did not take place in any of the years of President Donald Trump's term.

Kirby said Biden "will build on concrete progress" during the summit, on climate and environmental issues.
He said they will also develop ways to "jointly respond" to irregular migration, a hot topic as Trump-era Title 42 comes to an end.
