Permanent Representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, once again called on the international community to take urgent measures to confront the violations and crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, and to provide them with protection in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.

In letters he sent to each of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President of the Security Council and the President of the General Assembly of the United Nations, and reported by the Wafa Agency, Mansour condemned the occupation’s murder of the prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid, 50 years old, who had cancer and who died today as a result of being subjected to the worst forms of treatment, including medical neglect at the hands of His jailers are in grave violation of international humanitarian law and have not heeded repeated calls for his release.

Mansour called on the occupation to release the body of the prisoner Abu Hamid so that his family could bury him properly, pointing out that there are approximately 600 Palestinian prisoners in the occupation detention centers who suffer from diseases, including 24 detainees with cancer and in need of urgent medical care, calling on international human rights institutions to exert pressure. The occupation and settlers must stop their attacks and crimes against the Palestinian people, who have suffered for a long time under colonial occupation and the apartheid regime.
