Parcel carrier brings Christmas present, accidentally hits 7-year-old girl and kills her shortly afterwards without scruples

A heinous act shocked the US state of Texas.

A little girl is murdered by a delivery man who accidentally hits her.

Dallas/Munich - A crime in the US state of Texas can hardly be surpassed in sadness: A parcel carrier should just do his job in a small community called "Paradise" (northwest of Dallas) and carry a Christmas package to the destination - instead the man brought a 7-year-old girl died as reported by tz.de.

The bizarre sequence of events: The parcel carrier from the logistics giant FedEx allegedly accidentally hit the girl and then took her away, where he finally murdered the seven-year-old.

The macabre reason: He was afraid that the girl would tell her father about the accident after she had announced this.

The task of the alleged perpetrator was to bring the little girl a package from her mother, with whom the seven-year-old otherwise had her main residence.

She wanted to please her daughter with Barbie dolls.

Little Athena should only spend the holidays with her father in Texas, the parents live separately.

The gruesome crime happened on November 30th.

The father of the little ones sued the deadly delivery service, his employer FedEx and those responsible for the company that hired the later killer.

County Sheriff Lane Akin, visibly moved by the tragedy, said the fate of little Athena was heartbreaking.

"The work of our investigative team revealed that the driver kidnapped Athena." Tanner Horner then confessed to the horrific act.

The examination of the corpse revealed that Athena was not even seriously injured.

Because the murderer wanted to cover up the crime, the little girl lost her life far too early, while the parents have to deal with the tragic death of their child.

"I wanted to bring Athena back to Oklahoma after the Christmas holidays - and now she's coming home to me in an urn," says the mother in front of microphones.

The parents lived separately, the girl was visiting her father in the US state of Texas.

And the unscrupulous criminal?

The 31-year-old FedEx driver Horner may also have to pay for his cruel act with his life, according to reports in Texas he faces the death penalty.
