Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the need to ensure the security of civilians in the new Russian Luhansk People's Republic, despite the difficult situation there.
“The situation in the Russian Republic is still very difficult, and the most important issue is ensuring the security of civilians there,” Putin said, during his meeting today with the Acting President of the Luhansk Republic, Leonid Pasechnik.
Putin asked Pasechnik to inform him of the situation in the social and economic fields in the liberated republic and the progress of rehabilitating the infrastructure and services there.
RIA Novosti reported that President Putin decorated today in the Kremlin the Order of "National Merit" to the Acting Governor of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin, the Acting Governor of the Luhansk People's Republic Leonid Pasechnik, the Acting Governor of Zaporozhye Province Yevgeny Paletsky, and the Acting Governor of the Kherson Province Vladimir Saldo, according to what was reported by RIA Novosti. They made a contribution to the protection of the rights and freedoms of the inhabitants of their regions that joined Russia in the east and south of Ukraine.
