Ricarda Lang increases pressure on Iran regime after executions: "We will not forget the people"

Demonstrations in Iran have been going on for three months.
Green leader Ricarda Lang is now taking on the political sponsorship of an imprisoned journalist.
Stuttgart - As a result of the protests following the violent death of Jina Masha Amini, the Iranian regime has already executed two demonstrators: Majid-Resa R. and Mohsen Shekari.
There are other people on the execution lists, which is why German politicians want to set an example.
Among them was the leader of the Greens, Ricarda Lang, who announced on Twitter that she would take on a political partnership for the imprisoned journalist Masoud Kurdpoor, reports BW24.
According to Lang, he was "in political prison because he reported on the case of Jina Mahsa Amini and the protests it triggered in Kurdistan Province".
He is also the founder of the news agency Mukrian News in Bokan, "which reported on Kurdistan and the human rights of minorities in the region."

Kurdpoor was arrested in September 2022. Not the first time, as Lang said.
The Iranian regime has locked up the journalist in the past and only released him six years later after pressure from Amnesty International.
At that time, his license to teach was revoked.
The current measures against Kurdpoor are again drastic.
As Lang tweeted, “Since his arrest, he has not been able to contact his family or a lawyer.
Release on bail was refused.” The Green Party leader is now in contact with the prisoner's niece, Schilan Kurdpoor, who campaigns for human rights in Iran from Germany.

The actress Taraneh Alidoosti, who is well-known in Iran, was recently arrested in connection with the protests, the

reported .
She is accused of allegedly "spreading false information and supporting counter-revolutionary circles", which is why she faces a long prison sentence.
The protests in Iran have been going on for three months.
"With the sponsorship I want to increase the political pressure for the release of Masoud and all political prisoners in Iran," Lang wrote on Twitter.
She further promised: "We will not forget the people of Iran and will be their voice as long as they are silenced by the regime."
