Parliament Speaker Hamouda Sabbagh stressed the depth and strength of the authentic historical relations between Syria and Algeria and the importance of continuing joint work to strengthen and develop them at all levels.
During his meeting with the Algerian ambassador in Damascus, Hassan Tohamy, Sabbagh pointed out the need to strengthen relations between the two countries in the parliamentary field in terms of intensifying visits and exchanging experiences, in a way that achieves the common interest and benefit of the peoples of the two brotherly countries, and contributes to more coordination and unification of positions in Arab, regional and international forums.
Sabbagh appreciated Algeria's national and steadfast stances in support of Syria and its people in the face of the fierce terrorist plot and war it was exposed to, targeting its sovereignty, territorial integrity and various aspects of life in it, indicating that the right will of the people must triumph over all forms of injustice, evil and aggression, no matter how long or short the time is.
For his part, Ambassador Tohamy pointed out that the victories achieved by the Syrian leadership, army and people in the face of terrorism are a victory for all countries of the Arab world, and that the Syrian people have become an example to be followed in all countries of the world because of their heroic epics in steadfastness and challenging the various difficult circumstances they went through. Reaffirming his country's support for Syria until achieving final victory and liberating all of its soil from the abomination of terrorism.
The meeting was attended by members of the Council's bureau and the head of the Syrian-Algerian Parliamentary Fraternity Committee in the Council.
