Alfons Schuhbeck and his tax debts: The star chef illegally smuggled a total of 2.3 million euros past the tax authorities, and he has to pay back almost half.
But Schuhbeck is far from that: According to the regional court, he has not yet paid a cent.
Munich – The great star chef and entrepreneur Alfons Schuhbeck: This image has long been a thing of the past.
Because Schuhbeck is currently a convicted tax evader and has to pay around 1.2 million euros to the tax authorities - but that will also be difficult for him in the future.
Because in the spring he had to file for bankruptcy for his company and is now desperately looking for investors who could take over his debts.
Seven weeks after the verdict was announced: Schuhbeck has not yet repaid anything
According to information from our editorial team, Alfons Schuhbeck has still not paid a cent back seven weeks after his conviction at the Munich I Regional Court.
The chef had announced that he wanted to take full responsibility for his mistakes – at least there is nothing to see so far.
The fact is: Compensation for damages "is not known here," says Laurent Lafleur, spokesman for the Higher Regional Court in Munich.
"Alfons Schuhbeck is at fault," his lawyers said through a spokesman.

According to his adviser, Schuhbeck is working "tirelessly" to be able to repay the debt soon.
However, he needs investors for this, because Schuhbeck cannot pay the sum out of his own pocket.
He is no longer an entrepreneur at all, but only an employee of Schuhbecks Company GmbH, which was newly founded in the course of the insolvency - as such, his income flows into the insolvency estate.
Schuhbeck is only allowed to accumulate private assets to a very limited extent.
That's not nearly enough to settle the tax debts, as can be heard from those around him.

Munich: Schuhbeck has not settled his tax debts – if he withdraws the appeal, he must be in prison
When does Schuhbeck actually have to start his detention?
Many fans and observers of the tax case ask themselves this question, for which the district court in Munich I had imposed a sentence of three years and two months in prison.
Schuhbeck applied for an appeal against the verdict, which is currently being examined by the Federal Court of Justice – which can take months.
But the case could also be decided more quickly if Schuhbeck would withdraw the appeal, which for him is a "serious option", as our editorial team learned from the cook's closest circles.
According to this, Schuhbeck wants to be able to understand the alleged tax reductions and the considerations for the sentencing on the basis of the written judgment.
"Should the written reasons support the district court's decision, I will ask my lawyers to withdraw the appeal in case of doubt," explained Schuhbeck.
If that were the case, he would actually have to go to jail soon.
This would probably be in January.
