The police arrested a 50-year-old man today (Tuesday) on suspicion of trying to sexually assault a 9-year-old boy in Jerusalem who was on his way to school.
The police arrived at the scene after a report from a passerby in the city's Givat Shaul neighborhood, according to which she heard screams from between vehicles and saw a man leaning over a child.
According to the suspicion, after the suspect noticed her, he fled the scene.
After that, the suspect, a resident of Abu Ghosh, was located not far from the place of the report, using a wheelchair.
At the same time, the boy ran to the school he attends and reported the incident to the teaching staff there.
The suspect who was arrested by the police was taken for questioning at the Moriah station of the Jerusalem district, and later today he will be brought before a court for the purpose of extending his detention.
