The Council of Ministers discussed, during its weekly session today, chaired by Eng. Hussein Arnous, the draft legislative instrument that includes increasing financial compensation for workers assigned to carry out general certification exams in the Ministry of Education and its directorates and vocational education schools in public agencies, in proportion to the size of the efforts made to complete them accurately and at the specified times, and with the burdens Which is borne by the corrector, the observer, and those in charge of the examination work.

The Council also discussed the proposals of the relevant ministerial committees regarding the proportions of distributing diesel to the various sectors and securing their needs, increasing the allocations for hospitals in the public and private sectors and mass transportation of fuel, while giving priority in distribution after the start of breakthroughs in the coming period for heating diesel, and emphasized the follow-up of the work of the committees fuel in the governorates to ensure the optimal exercise of its tasks, achieving fair distribution, and applying the maximum penalties against traffickers in subsidized materials. A fuel company was assigned to expedite the automation of the distribution of agricultural diesel under the electronic card, and to implement the GPS project on vehicles in all governorates.

The Council stressed the continuation of the work of hospitals, bakeries, banks, border crossings and courts to secure basic services for citizens during the Christmas and New Year holidays, while following up on the smooth running of work in these agencies, in parallel with increasing control over markets and suppressing violations in accordance with the laws and regulations in force.

Engineer Arnous indicated the importance of activating popular markets to break the intermediate link and deliver goods and materials from the producer to the consumer at reasonable prices and achieve balance in the markets. He stressed the quality of providing medical and health services in hospitals and health centers, reflecting the government support provided to the health sector. Granting a loan of 400,000 pounds to state workers and retirees without interest as soon as possible, and achieving flexibility in the procedures for obtaining it.

The Council instructed the concerned ministries to review the list of export commodities in the agricultural calendar, to set priorities for imported materials to ensure that the local market is supplied with the necessary commodities it needs, and to study the economic feasibility of transporting citrus from the governorates of Lattakia and Tartous to the central region and Damascus via trains, which reduces transport costs, and is reflected in a positive way. Directly to reduce the prices of the material offered in the market.

The Cabinet discussed a draft law to cut the final account of the state’s general budget for the fiscal year 2021, and a draft law amending some articles of Law No. 2 of 2014 related to the entry and residence of Arabs and foreigners.

The Council approved a number of contracts related to the completion of the implementation of the educational complex project in Jaramana, in the countryside of Damascus, and the infrastructure of the first regulatory zone related to Legislative Decree No. 66 of 2012, in addition to service and development projects in a number of governorates.
