Ou said that the number of cases in residential care homes for the elderly is at a high level. In the past week, 390 homes had newly reported cases, involving 1,624 residents and 737 staff.
There were 165 newly reported cases in residential care homes for the disabled, involving 345 residents and 295 staff.
In schools, confirmed cases have increased by 15%, which is similar to the increase in community cases.
In the past week, 11,000 students and 2,018 teachers were diagnosed, an increase of 10 to 15%.
In terms of new variant virus strains, currently the most imported cases involving new variant virus cases are XBB, followed by BQ.1.1.
The most local cases are BQ.1.1, followed by XBB.
