Transport strike in Bordeaux: an agreement reached between employees and management

After ten days of strike, the management of Keolis and the employees of TBM finally managed to agree on a 5% increase in wages.

After ten days of strike, the situation will finally return to normal in the transport of the Bordeaux agglomeration.

This Monday, the trade unions of TBM (Transports Bordeaux Métropole) signed an agreement with the management of Keolis, the operator of the public transport network in the metropolis.

This text provides for a salary increase of 3.5% in January and then 1.5% in July.

This protocol was submitted upstream to the vote of the employees who voted in favor.

Since December 8, the trade unions (CGT, FO, CFTC and CFE-CGC) have unanimously demanded a 6% increase in wages, to match the rise in inflation.

A demonstration took place this Friday, December 16 and brought together around 500 people in front of the headquarters of Keolis and Bordeaux Métropole.

Previous proposals from Keolis management provided for an increase of 0.5% in December 2022 and 4% in March 2023. Conditions "

", according to the CGT.

A compromise for the service to resume

The agreement concluded on Monday between the stakeholders provides, in addition to a 5% increase in wages by July, the payment from January of ten days of rest on meters, the maintenance of the holiday bonus at its current amount and the return to the application of the 1994 agreement on sickness deficiency.

After several days severely disrupted by the transport strike in the Bordeaux conurbation - trams only running every 20 or even 30 minutes and bus lines being canceled or slowed down - the situation should gradually return to normal on the TBM network. from this Tuesday.
