Gone is the dream of a white Christmas.

Instead of snow, according to the weather forecast, we can expect mild weather and hurricane-force squalls.

Munich/Wiesbaden - The icy days are slowly turning their backs on us.

On the fourth day of Advent, temperatures in Germany reached almost minus 20 degrees.

Now a weather expert thinks 16 degrees plus is possible in the next few days.

This is the end of black ice on the streets.

School was even canceled in some parts of Bavaria due to the ice.

Most drivers will be happy about the turnaround in the weather, but fans of a winter wonderland must be strong, because according to the forecast, the weather at Christmas will be spring-like warm, so that a white Christmas will probably “not be an issue at all” this year.

In the next few days the snow will gradually disappear, which means that the forecast for the weather in Germany at Christmas is rather poor.

The snow can even thaw at high altitudes in the low mountain ranges, as qualified meteorologist Dominik Jung told the weather portal

Weather in Germany: According to the forecast, gusts of wind are even possible at Christmas

On Tuesday and Wednesday the temperatures range between five and 12 degrees, and it can rain again and again.

On Wednesday it will be increasingly windy and from Thursday it can even get stormy.

Wind gusts of around 80 km/h are possible until Christmas Eve.

Hurricane-like gusts of up to 110 km/h are to be expected at the sea and in the higher regions.

It will also be milder on Thursday, with maximum temperatures of up to 14 degrees.

Friday is supposed to be the warmest day of the week.

"The heat peak will be reached on Friday, then up to 16 degrees are possible on the Rhine, maybe even 17 or 18 degrees directly on the Upper Rhine.

It's really too warm for the current time of year," said the weather expert in his forecast.

A few days ago, December was almost three degrees too cold compared to the average climate, with this temperature change it could be three degrees warmer, as Jung explained.

This also means: no white Christmas despite the long-lasting rapid fall and the sub-zero temperatures of the past few days.

It can always rain on Christmas Eve.

Christmas Day and Boxing Day remain generally mild.

On Sunday, the weather conditions are slowly calming down.

The last showers can come down at six to 12 degrees, and the sun can also appear in places according to the latest weather forecast.

On Monday it will remain dry, the sun can come out and the temperatures range between seven and 15 degrees.

“Everything is open after Christmas.

Some weather models are again calculating a sharp drop in temperature towards New Year's Eve," says meteorologist Jung about the weather in Germany after Christmas.

The temperatures could drop again by New Year's Eve, so that the turn of the year will be colder again.

The New Year could literally be possible.
