Looking for an apartment in Munich?
Almost always a real challenge.
A Facebook page wants to help, but now encounters a lot of incomprehension with a "tip".
Munich - Finding a new apartment is always and everywhere a challenge.
Especially if you don't just want to have a roof over your head, but of course you want to make a suitable home out of your new home.
These demands are often not very pronounced among those looking for an apartment in Munich, as the goal is often only to get hold of a reasonably affordable property.
That's what a Facebook page with almost 50,000 members is for.
"Apartment free in Munich" offers a platform in which objects can be exchanged, simply to make it easier to look for an apartment.
However, the "community" has now found one offer difficult.
Apartment offer in Munich - "Attractive and affordable" - for 5,800 euros?
“Looking for attractive and affordable apartments in Munich?
We have them - with a panorama of the Alps or in the trendy district!" That's how the Facebook page describes itself. The offer also sounds very appealing: "If an apartment
becomes available, you'll be the first to know here.
Just click on 'Like'.” If you browse through the posts on the site, one thing immediately catches your eye: among the numerous advertisements that certainly arouse interest among people and can be perceived as “good tips”, there are often similar ones one that fails to deliver on the promise of affordable housing.

Apartment advertisement from Munich makes waves on Facebook
For example, a 70 square meter apartment for 2320 euros rent in Maxvorstadt or a two-room apartment with 59 square meters in Au-Haidhausen for a whopping 1720 euros.
The offer, which is one of the most difficult things for the users of the site to question is the sense and purpose of the site and, on the other hand, plays with all the Munich clichés.
220 square meters, 5,800 euros rent including heating.
Many people on Facebook find this “tip” difficult.

Apartment tip in Munich: "Light-flooded roof terrace apartment with gallery"
"Furnished: Light-flooded roof terrace apartment with gallery".
This is how the apartment in Untergiesing-Harlaching is described.
Four rooms and a living space of 220 square meters are available.
The rent including additional costs: 5,800.00 euros.
The property is shared via the real estate portal "Ab ins Heim", so the Facebook group is not responsible for the offer.
Nevertheless, the many users are not quite sure why this object ends up on a page that wants to provide support in the search for "affordable apartments" in Munich.
The comments are correspondingly different.

"I love this satire," writes one user.
Another directly chooses drastic words: "They are not very close in the head.
Nobody can pay that much rent.
Except for the super rich.” Another person takes it with humor and writes: “Unfortunately, no parking space included.
You would have to drive MVG then..." One user summed up her opinion on the post succinctly with the words "I could throw up straight away".
Who knows, there might be someone among the site's users who is actually interested, but the odds are slim.
