Again an incident of violence:

an auditor of Egged company, Moti Cohen, 63 years old from Holon, was beaten today (Wednesday) using a mobile phone, by a boy who did not pay for the trip and did not agree to give his details.

Cohen was taken to the hospital, where his head was stitched up.

The police are looking for the boy who fled the scene after the incident.

"Every second or third bus I get on, you feel like an incident of violence is about to happen," Cohen told Israel Hayom.

During the afternoon, MDA received a report of an injured person from a violent incident on a bus on Golda Meir St. in Holon. MDA medics and paramedics gave him medical treatment and evacuated him in a minor condition with a head injury.

"When we arrived at the scene, we saw the injured man back inside the bus while he was conscious suffering from a bloody head injury. We performed tests and gave him medical treatment that included dressings and medication and evacuated him to the hospital when his condition was mild," said MDA paramedic Shalom Ben David, and MDA medic Matan Yitzhak.

Cohen himself recounted to "Israel Today" what happened to him.

"I work in the audit. There were several boys, some paid, one didn't pay and the inspector wanted to give him a report.

He was not ready to give details, an exchange began.

I came to his aid, and then the boy started raising his voice, I took a picture of him with the camera and we called the police, then he tried to run away from the bus.

"He got out of the back and suddenly he hit me in the head with the phone and split my head open. I was evacuated to Wolfson Hospital and I got stitches in my head."

Cohen said that he leaves the house every day with fears.

"These things happen a lot, you don't know how the day will end, why is there crazy violence here. You see it towards drivers and I was a former driver and I know what it's like then. Every second or third bus I get on you feel like an incident of violence is about to happen , it's scary to work in such a job, but there's no choice, it's a living."

"unbearable situation"

Nir Landau, the deputy director of administration at Agad, said in response to the case that "in recent years, the number of public transportation passengers who do not use their multi-line card when they get on buses throughout the country has been increasing, most of them accidentally and some of them on purpose.

The inspectors should be praised for their important work, sometimes under conditions of physical and verbal violence which is their lot on a daily basis.

"This is an intolerable situation and we expect the Israel Police and law and enforcement agencies to increase deterrence and punishment against those who dare to resort to verbal and physical violence against public servants, drivers and inspectors alike. These days we are training over 100 new inspectors for Egged buses in order to reduce as much as possible the The phenomenon of 'free rides' on Egged buses".
