Le Figaro Nice
In Nice, the parochial dispute between Christian Estrosi and Éric Ciotti continues.
And for good reason, the deputy of the Alpes-Maritimes and president of the Republicans has a hard time digesting the accusations concerning him in a publication of
Info.nice.fr
, the new communication organ of the municipality, launched in September.
In this digital adaptation of the paper newspaper
Nice Magazine,
the elected maralpine considers that some of his remarks were exposed "
in a way to discredit them
", and decided to seize by mail the prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes as well as the Authority of regulation of audiovisual and digital communication (Arcom), as confirmed by
one of its collaborators in
Le Figaro .
In a publication of December 9 relating to the visit to Nice of the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, within the framework of the opening of the construction site of the Hôtel des polices, several paragraphs entitled "
the untruths of Éric Ciotti
”, rebuke the deputy and his statements in the press and in the National Assembly concerning the project.
Ironically presented as "
disappointed
", the latter is accused of being at the origin of "
most random
" predictions, of expressing himself "
without any usual precautions
", of "
sowing doubt
", or even of launching “
flying numbers
”.

In his letters to the prefect and to Arcom – which
Le Figaro
was able to obtain – Éric Ciotti denounces
“the drift taken by this municipal information site by flouting the principle of neutrality only three months after its creation.”
The President of the Republicans also considers
“inconceivable that a community finances with public funds, a site whose content is political propaganda.
Indeed, a fundamental requirement of justice, impartiality is a duty that also falls on a municipal administration.
It is a condition for the acceptance of its power, in that it aims to guarantee that the Administration is not deviated from its purposes of general interest.
He therefore invites the State service and the public agency to take up this case and to take
the necessary measures accordingly.
The City of Nice rejects these allegations and recalls that its new website is not a media,
"as some would like to present it"
, but
"simply the digital version of Nice Magazine",
a municipal information monthly
"like all French cities.
And to insist:
"the will of the City is to favor and strengthen the link between the population of Nice and its services."
