IESF World Esports Championship 2022 (IESF)
As reported last month, the Israeli gaming team did not participate in this year's eSports World Championship due to the lack of agreement of the late country, Indonesia, to allow the team to play with the team's uniform and flag "for security reasons".
Since then, the Association for Competitive Gaming, which represents Israel in the International Electronic Sports Federation, has begun many diplomatic efforts to change the picture.
This week, a proposal was made by the Israeli delegation during a meeting of the World Federation of Electronic Sports Committee, which called for obliging each country that is selected to host the World Championship to allow all participating countries to send a team represented with the country's name, symbols and national colors.
This proposal received overwhelming support with 87% of states voting in favor.
The proposal was passed by an absolute majority of eastern and western countries, and the countries that voted against were mainly Arab countries.
In total, the Israeli vote won a majority of 55 countries that voted in favor, compared to eight countries that opposed.
Six countries abstained from the proposal, including Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.

This is a significant achievement for Israel, as it illustrates the country's leadership and status in the field of electronic sports.
The achievement also strengthens Israel's relations with other member states, and establishes the country as a key player in the global eSports community.
The approval of the Israeli proposal also marks a significant and important step for the International Federation for eSports and the global community, as it will enable increased cooperation in the pursuit of promoting the field of eSports without restrictions on countries and will put the federation on the same page as leading sports organizations in the world that no longer allow restrictions on such countries.
The Israeli delegation, led by the chairman of the association for competitive gaming
Ido Brosh
, was a decisive factor in securing the support of key countries for the proposal, and advocated the importance of international cooperation in the field of eSports.
The speech of the chairman of the association before the vote demanded the support of every member state of the organization which supports peace, global cooperation, and separating gaming from politics.
