Tamer Haiv, a 21-year-old resident of Tuba Zangaria, was charged today (Wednesday) with weapons offenses.
According to the indictment, he equipped himself with a type 16M rifle which he buried in the ground in the olive grove near his residential complex, equipped himself with five cartridges with bullets and a stun grenade, and even possessed a police drone that was stolen as part of a break-in to the police offices in the city of Safed, and tried to use it.
The indictment also shows that Hav approached other people who have weapons, and offered them that he would find buyers for the weapons for them in exchange for brokerage fees for him and also offered others to purchase the weapons.
During the last months of October-November, the defendant contacted his friend who served at the time as a soldier in the IDF, for the purpose of obtaining and purchasing ammunition, from whom he asked to purchase ammunition, among other things, due to conflicts in his village and as a source of financial gain. The friend transferred and sold ammunition to him on five occasions, including thousands 5.56 mm bullets, which he sold for tens of thousands of shekels.
The prosecutor's office requests to extend his detention until the end of the legal proceedings.
