The Beer Sheva Magistrate's Court today (Wednesday) extended the detention of 40-year-old Amir Azberga, who is suspected of running over and abandoning the 9-year-old last night near Arad.
The boy, Hillel Yamharan, a resident of the city, will be laid to rest at 14:00 at the local cemetery.
"He was an amazing child, a child loved by all his friends and family," his mother Ayala told Israel Hayom.

The accident occurred at the exit of Arad on Route 31. The MDA team that treated the child said that the child was lying on the road from lack of appetite without a pulse and without breathing with a severe multi-system injury. After many resuscitation efforts, he was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The Be'er Sheva Magistrate's Court extended Azberga's detention by five days until December 26.
The police representative explained at the hearing that after hitting the child, "the vehicle stopped after 100 meters. Then it started driving after they tried to stop it and went down to the field."

The police believe, according to the documentation of the incident that came into their hands, that the child did not cross at a crosswalk and the driver, on the other hand, did not break the law and drove normally.
"During the investigation, the suspect claimed that he did not know what he hit. He left the scene of the accident, continued driving, then broke his leg and ran away."
The defense attorney claimed on the other hand that Ezberga came under pressure and "his sugar went up".
The parties agreed in the hearing that if the suspect had stopped after the injury and had not fled, he probably would not have been arrested today.
The court ruled that there is reasonable suspicion that the suspect committed what is attributed to him - negligence after injury and causing death by negligence.
Also because there is a reasonable chance of disrupting investigation procedures.
