After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the mixed Fraunberg Choir, founded in 2018, invited Tactful to the Advent concert in the community center - shortly before the annual general meeting.

There the singers announced their concert plans for 2023.

- "I would not have thought that the choir would survive two years without rehearsals and performances," said director Ute Auf dem Hövel at the welcome in the well-filled community hall.

"We are all the happier to get in the mood for the upcoming Christmas season together with you." The 14 choir members, conducted by Ute Auf dem Hövel, accompanied on the piano by Reichenkirchen's organist Angela Gruber, sang international songs on the themes of winter and Christmas .

For the classics "Power up the door" and "Leise trickleelt der Schnee" lyric notes were laid out so that everyone could sing along.

After the long-lasting applause of the concert-goers at the end, the choir sang the Christmas hit “We Wish You A Merry Christmas” as an encore.

Between the songs, Mayor Hans Wiesmaier provided a common Christmas feeling with contemplative Advent and Christmas stories.

With free admission, the concert-goers were able to thank the choir with a voluntary donation.

"2021 was not an easy year for us, we had to take a break in the winter.

At least we were able to give two more concerts.” This was the short review by Anja von Fraunberg, chairwoman of the Taktvoll mixed choir in Fraunberg.

He had met for the fourth annual general meeting in the community hall of the community center.

15 of the 24 members came to think about the future program.

The choir singers were still inspired by the great success of their performance at the Advent concert just before (see above).

"Some went home really elated," stated choir director Ute Auf dem Hövel with great satisfaction.

Concerts are already being planned for next year.

It is true that the 2023 Advent concert that was actually planned cannot be realized in this way, because the fourth Advent then falls directly on Christmas Eve.

For this she is currently thinking of an autumn event as an alternative, then the concert will be a little earlier.

In any case, the Mother's Day concert should take place on May 14, 2023, perhaps together with the community orchestra, which will then also be celebrating its 20th anniversary.

A choral performance is also planned "sometime in the summer, perhaps on the grounds of the castle," as Herdana von Fraunberg suggested.

Until then, however, all choir members want to actively try to find more singers themselves, because young people are urgently needed.

As far as the finances of the choir are concerned, treasurer Manfred Obermaier was able to report a satisfactory result: income of around 3300 euros, including 1500 euros in donations, is offset by expenses of around 2900 euros - the choir alone donated 1000 euros to the Ukraine aid.

The account balance of the association is currently around 3000 euros.

"We are happy to be a member of the Bavarian Singers' Association," said Anja von Fraunberg in conclusion, "because we not only receive funding for our choir director and for sheet music.

We don't have to pay any Gema fees for copyright use either."
